At Ever & Ember, we’ve always believed soap should do more than clean — it should tell a story. A story about joy, creativity, and connection.
This season’s story is personal: a celebration of color, identity, and community through our Seasonal Pride Soap Collection — four vibrant, natural bars we’ve lovingly curated from some of the best small makers we’ve ever discovered.
We’re Philip and Eric, a gay married couple with a 14-year-old son, Jacob. Together, we run Ever & Ember and are affectionately known (thanks to our dear friend Beth) as “The Soap Boys.”
The nickname stuck — because it perfectly fits who we are. We don’t make the soaps you see in our store; we discover and curate them from talented independent soapmakers who share our values of artistry, sustainability, and authenticity. Then we wrap those finds in storytelling, education, and a little sparkle of humor.
And yes, if you’ve visited our YouTube channel, you’ve probably seen Jacob — our “junior Soap Boy” — joyfully cutting soap loaves fresh from our makers’ shipments, chatting about scents, or occasionally cracking jokes about “which one smells most like Dad.” It’s one of our favorite parts of this family business: turning what we love into something we can share together — and with you.

We discovered this gem through one of our artisan partners who specializes in traditional aromatics. The fragrance felt like history meeting modern sophistication — and we couldn’t resist giving it our signature Ever & Ember flair (and a cheeky name).

“The Soap Boys” started as a nickname from our friend Beth who loves that we're so into soap that we started our own business to find unique soaps and other natural products for our family business. What began as a laugh became our identity — a reminder that business can be joyful, family can be found anywhere, and even soap can tell stories.
We built Ever & Ember not to make soap, but to find and share the best of it — from the makers who pour their hearts into every batch to the customers who appreciate their craft.
