From Mountains to Moisture: Why We Sourced Out Natural Deodorant

From Mountains to Moisture: Why We Sourced Out Natural Deodorant

Eric Vandernail

When I moved from the cool, dry air of Colorado to the hot, sticky humidity of Florida, I knew life would feel a little different. What I didn’t expect was just how much my go-to natural deodorant would stop working.

I tried everything. The brands I’d sworn by for years? Melting. Smudging. Failing me by noon. It didn’t matter how “natural” the label claimed it was—nothing natural held up to Florida’s heat and humidity.

As the owner of Ever and Ember, a natural body care store built on transparency and clean ingredients, I couldn’t settle. If I couldn’t find a deodorant that truly worked, I knew others were struggling too. So, I decided to do something about it.

We started sourcing high-quality products that not only felt good on the skin but actually performed in this steamy new climate. It took a lot of testing (thanks to many very sweaty afternoons), but eventually, we sourced a deodorant that holds up beautifully—even in the Florida sun.

My personal favorite? Tobacco Flower Natural Deodorant. It’s got this elegant balance of soft floral undertones with just a trace of warm musk. Not overpowering. Not perfume-y. Just grounded, earthy, and quietly confident—like the scent equivalent of a deep breath.

Sourcing our own deodorant line has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you. If you’ve struggled to find a natural deodorant that keeps you feeling fresh without the toxins or irritation, we made this with you in mind.

Thanks for supporting small, natural, and handmade. I hope you love it as much as I do.

With gratitude,
Philip V.
